From zero to your first analysis

Five steps to get the terminal open, connected to your Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT (Codex) subscription, and the analyst reading your candles.

5 min read v1.0.4

Requirements

Kapiz works with your own AI subscription through its CLI: Claude's, Cursor's or Codex's, whichever you already use. If you'd rather use an API key, it's stored only on your computer: it never goes through our servers.

  • The Claude, Cursor or Codex CLIOne is enough
  • An active subscriptionClaude Pro or Max, a Cursor account or a ChatGPT plan
  • A Kapiz accountCreated from the app itself

01Install the CLI

You install it once. Pick the one for your subscription: Kapiz detects which one you have.

# macOS, Linux
$ curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
# Windows (PowerShell)
> irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iex
# macOS, Linux
$ curl https://cursor.com/install -fsS | bash
# Windows (PowerShell)
> irm 'https://cursor.com/install?win32=true' | iex
# macOS, Linux
$ curl -fsSL https://chatgpt.com/codex/install.sh | sh
# Windows (PowerShell)
> powershell -ExecutionPolicy ByPass -c "irm https://chatgpt.com/codex/install.ps1 | iex"

02Sign in

The first time it opens the browser to verify your subscription. After that it won't ask again.

If you have more than one, choose which one the analyst uses in the provider selector at the top of the analyst panel. You can switch at any time.

03Install Kapiz and create your account

Kapiz installs with a command, just like the CLI. Paste it into a terminal and press Enter: it downloads the latest version, checks it arrived intact and leaves it ready to open.

macOS · Linux
$ curl -fsSL https://www.kapiz.dev/install.sh | bash
Windows (PowerShell)
> irm https://www.kapiz.dev/install.ps1 | iex

The first time you open the app it asks for an email and a password. The account keeps your settings, your drawings and your practice account, so you have them on any computer.

Conversations with the analyst go through your Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT subscription, not through our servers.

04Open your first symbol

Find the pair in the top bar and pick a timeframe. Prices stream live from the pair's exchange (Binance, Bybit, OKX or Coinbase), and the analyst starts reading as soon as there are candles on screen.

BTCUSDTETHUSDTSOLUSDTXRPUSDTBNBUSDT

05Choose how much rope it gets

You pick it in the analyst panel and can change it at any time.

Copilot

It proposes and you confirm every step.

Analyst

It analyses and draws on its own. You confirm the trades.

Autonomous

It trades on its own with the guidelines you give it when you start it, within an allowance you can always see.

Troubleshooting

The app says it can't find the CLI

Open a new terminal and check that claude (or agent if you use Cursor, or codex if you use Codex) responds. If it doesn't, repeat the install from step 01. Then close and reopen Kapiz.

It says the CLI isn't signed in

Run claude auth login (or agent login, or codex login) in a terminal, sign in with your account and go back to the app. claude auth status tells you whether Claude is already signed in.

The analyst doesn't draw anything

No candles on screen, no reading. Open a symbol and wait for the chosen timeframe to load.

Is real money involved?

No. Every trade is on a practice account.
